Volunteer For Fun: How To Become A Sausalito Art Festival Volunteer

Each year, the Sausalito Art Festival draws an estimated 50,000 visitors into the San Francisco Bay area over Labor Day weekend. The City of Sausalito is a pretty hillside community that has a population of about 7,500 people. For the Sausalito Art Festival to be successful, up to 1,000 volunteers are needed to assist busy festival planners with the chores that an event of this size entails. Volunteers receive fun perks for their services.

How To Become A Sausalito Art Festival Volunteer:

Sausalito Art Festival Volunteers belong to a variety of age-groups and they come in all sizes. Helpful people are needed to man drink booths, give directions to strangers and to pick up trash around the festival. There are volunteers delivering messages from vendors to other Art Show workers, people keeping an eye on displays and individuals clad in the Sausalito Art Festival volunteer t-shirts and wrist bands available throughout the crowds.

During the first week of December, the Sausalito Art Festival starts accepting their booth applications from qualified artisans and vendors. Singles, families and groups can register to become volunteers from December forward, until the mornings of Festival events. It is possible for visitors from all parts of America to register as Sausalito Art Festival helpers. Volunteers receive free bicycle-valet parking, quick-access admission and other benefits.

In the past, the Sausalito ferry services have offered free and discounted rides to the Art Festival volunteers. The businesses within the City of Sausalito can also offer unique discounts and bargains to the members of the volunteer team that helps their Labor Day weekend events to be profitable. After the Art Festival is over, there is a special party thrown by the Art Festival organizers to thank every Festival volunteer on the roster.

The Sausalito Art Festival holds one of the largest displays of open-air art in America. In actual size, the Sausalito small-town art festival is comparable to the large Tokyo, Japan Echigo-Tsumari Festival that claims the largest outdoor art show title. The Tokyo festival attracts more people, over weeks, while the packed Sausalito Art Festival is only open from Friday to Monday over Labor Day weekend. Global art lovers enjoy Sausalito, CA.

Volunteers at the Sausalito Art Festival are asked to choose their own scheduled shifts to work. This way, all visiting volunteers can plan their free-time schedules to fully explore the displayed art, live music performances, community events, specialty foods and unique neighborhood shops. Couples, families and groups often decide to donate their time to the Art Festival as a unit, while singles use the volunteer program to form new friendships.

At shift times, Sausalito Art Festival volunteers must be dressed in a respectful manner that is not displaying controversial body art or body parts at this family-oriented event. Closed-toe shoes are recommended and mandatory for volunteer workers to wear inside of beverage booths. A zippered belt-pack is helpful to hold cell phones or cameras, the layered clothing format can be adjusted as needed, and sunscreen is a must by the Bay.
