May they be joyous and live in safety. -Metta SuttaDuring this second workshop we will begin to construct hives and frames. The emphasis will be on foundationless frames for both Langstroth and top bar hives. We will design a beekeeping plan for the year; learn to examine a hive; anticipate bee behaviors through the seasons; and understand how to react to these behaviors. Participants may make an appointment with Alan to work bees with him at Green Gulch or in Tracy. Workshop participants will go home with the knowledge to complete their hives and prepare them for bee delivery on April 21. Please bring a hammer, bee veil, and other protective equipment with you.Wear layers of light colored clothing-it will be chilly outside.
