Transforming Depression and Anxiety: A Path of Skillful Compassion at GGF

Saturday, March 3rd.

Suzuki Roshi said, "In the Beginner's Mind there are many possibilities ..."

Combining mindfulness with body-focused meditation and specific therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, this two-day workshop will examine how to best take care of ourselves by relating to depression and anxiety with compassion. The aim of the class is for participants to practice identifying, relating to, and interrupting conditionings that are hindrances to feeling better. With encouragement and skillful means to interrupt the mind's habitual patterns contributing to depression and anxiety, participants can cultivate practices to manage and prevent future depression.

(CEU's are available-see below*)

Beginning or experienced meditators, mental health professionals, and those suffering from depression or anxiety (currently or in the past) are most welcome.

Class fees: $165; $155 current SFZC members; $145 limited income. Fees cover both days of the workshop.*Add $25 administration fee for CEU's, to be paid at the time of registration.

*Note about CEU's: SFZC is able to offer 12 CEUs for MFTs/LCSW's (Provider #3978) to those attending the entire workshop. A CE administrative fee of $25 should be paid at time of registration.
