The Legacy of Sears Point
Infineon was formerly known as Sears Point Raceway, and is referred to under that name by many locals still today. The track was built in the late 1960’s and has had an impressive run throughout the last four plus decades, and maintains a place in the hearts of race fans from around the country. Groups such as NASCAR, the American Federation of Motorcyclists, Sports Car Club of America, the Indy Racing League, and many more use the raceway for their large racing events and host a variety of events spaced throughout the year.
Named originally for the Sears Point Ranch founded nearby in the 1800’s (and not affiliated in any way with the Sears Roebuck Company), the racetrack was renamed for corporate sponsor Infineon in 2002.
