Sausalito Breakfast

Breakfast in Sausalito is a real treat. The town’s many restaurants and cafés serve up some of the best breakfasts in the San Francisco Bay Area, in one of the most beautiful bayside settings around. Whether you’re hungry early in the morning, or craving breakfast fare later in the day after a bike ride through the natural splendor of Marin County, or a day of sightseeing, Sausalito restaurants are serving delicious egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, and more. From casual to gourmet, there’s something for everyone when it comes to breakfast in Sausalito.

Café’s in Sausalito are known for their delicious and filling omelets. Cooks around town outdo themselves coming up with creative omelet combinations. Thanks to plentiful California produce and meats, and fresh-from-the-sea fish and shellfish, there are lots of tasty egg dishes to choose from. Of course you’ll find Denver omelets on the menu, but you’ll also find combinations like bacon, avocado, tomatoes and cheese, or omelets featuring specialty sausages, or salmon. Egg scrambles are also fluffy and filled with good ingredients. Some of the gourmet restaurants in town use artisan cheeses, cured meats, wild mushrooms and other unique ingredients in their recipes. In addition, Eggs Benedict, frittatas, and quiche can be found on menus in Sausalito.

If you’re craving something sweeter, there are some excellent pancakes and waffles to be ordered from Sausalito breakfast restaurants. Fluffy and warm pancakes plain, or filled with various berries and fruit, served with butter and maple syrup are a delight for both kids and adults. At one gourmet restaurant cornmeal pancakes are on the menu, along with sourdough waffles topped with caramelized bananas. French toast is another favorite served at local cafés. You can also find blitzes, and one restaurant even offers a breakfast bread pudding, served with fresh fruit and whipped cream.

Breakfast sides are a specialty at some Sausalito restaurants. Delicious thick, crunchy bacon, and traditional and gourmet sausages, are abundant on breakfast menus. Crispy hash browns and savory home fries are popular items. Many restaurants also serve creamy, hot steel-cut oatmeal. Fresh California fruit is also plentiful, from sweet berries, to juicy melons and citrus. You’ll also find things like house-made yogurt and granola on menus.

For breakfast on the go, there are cafes that serve chewy, warm bagels, a wide array of pastries, and of course, good, strong coffee. Lots of fresh smoothies are also available.

Whatever you do, don’t skip breakfast in Sausalito. In this beautiful town on the San Francisco Bay it’s not only the most important meal of the day, it’s often the most delicious.
