Hiking near Sausalito

Hike Some of the Most Scenic and Well Known Trails in the State!

Sausalito is one of the few locations in the greater San Francisco Bay Area that allows hikers to have their pick from an almost infinite variety of trails, views, and difficulty levels in planning a hike. Sausalito is also unique in that it is in such close proximity to many of the most scenic and sought after parks and trails for hikers and trail runners in California, and that all of these hikes are literally available within just a few minutes of the city.

If you are looking for a short stroll in the woods or coastal wetlands and flats, a weekend backpacking trip, or a solid run up one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s highest and most recognizable peaks, Sausalito area parks have something you will enjoy. • Mt. Tamalpais

• Point Reyes National Seashore

Point Reyes National Seashore, Mt. Tamalpais, and the parks near China Camp State Park all have a variety of shorter hikes and interpretive trails to get you out in nature without working up too much of a sweat.

For hikers and trail runners looking for longer or more technical outings, take a look at Mt. Tamalpais or the longer hikes in the Point Reyes area. Mt.
