Radio Sausalito Broadcasts in Southern Marin County:

For over ten years, Radio Sausalito has been offering local communities up-beat jazz music, an outlet for local announcements and special entertainment provided by talented local citizens. During moments of concern or emergencies, Radio Sausalito keeps its Southern Marin listening region up-to-date with news and personalized announcements. The station operates on Apple Computers using FCC approved specialized programs and exterior repeating stations located at intervals throughout the south-end of Marin County.

This radio station operates through volunteers and offers low-cost or free public service announcements for local area organizations. For groups to qualify for free local radio announcements, they must prove their federal non-profit status, have local information and be ready to arrange for their announcements at least 7-days before airtime is needed.

Radio Sausalito also offers fun-filled contests, an outlet for local writers to have their original short stories read and a place that offers airtime to qualified citizens or events.

Radio Sausalito broadcasts non-stop, 24-hours each day on a recorded jazz and blues format that offers a rotating array of music. Owner Jonathan Westerling created his tiny 1999 radio station at the north-end of Caledonia Street in Sausalito. The original Radio Sausalito was started as a public service option; broadcast distance was just a few blocks. As public interest grew, so did Radio Sausalito with more range and more community oriented service opportunities. Today, the Sausalito radio station is a daily Marin ritual.
