Childhood Obesity Bay Area Conference 2015 Building Our Community, Empowering Our Children Slow Food San Francisco’s 2015 Childhood Obesity Bay Area (COBA) Conference will take place at UCSF Medical Center on March 6th and 7th, 2015. COBA is an annual conference that brings together local stakeholders in childhood obesity prevention to promote innovation and provide insight into work being done on this critical issue. This year’s theme, Building Our Community, Empowering Our Children highlights the power that strengthening our vibrant community of organizations, politicians, physicians and educators has for empowering our children and adolescents who have been affected by this epidemic. This two-day conference will allow people working in different fields of health, wellness and sustainable food to connect and collaborate. In addition to six keynote addresses, COBA 2015 will feature an array of panel discussions, break-out sessions, slam poetry performances, networking reception with tastings from sustainable wineries, optional garden tours, and small group dinners. Many speakers will be available to sign books and local organizations will be exhibiting their work. By bringing together the newest research, best practices, and local heroes, we hope to highlight opportunities to prevent and reverse childhood obesity in the Bay Area and beyond.
