Held annually for 59 consecutive years, the Sausalito Art Festival has become a Bay Area legend and is one of the most highly anticipated events of the Labor Day Weekend in the Bay Area. Exciting Entertainment for a Cause

The Sausalito Art Festival is also one of the few events of its kind that is administrated by a nonprofit entity whose mission is to further the arts and art education in the community. Fostering Sausalito’s almost 200 year tradition and history of art, the Sausalito Art Festival Foundation uses the festival as a fundraising event and donates the money raised back to community organizations in the form of grants, awards, and other means. The festival has raised more than $500,000 for these community programs in recent years.

With funds donated to a wide range of local organizations from the Marine Mammal Center and the Bay Area Discovery Museum to the Sausalito Historical Society and the Southern Marin Homeless Coalition, the Sausalito Art Festival maintains a clear connection to the community.

An Award Winning Festival

Long recognized as one of the best Art Festivals in the country of its kind, the Sausalito Art Festival Foundation was honored in 2011 with several awards from the International Festival and Events Association. With a gold medal in the Best Radio Promotion category, silver medals in both the Best Program Cover Design and Best Volunteer Program categories, and a bronze medal in the Best Commemorative Poster category, the Art Festival was widely heralded once again as one of the most well organized and executed events anywhere in the world.
